Manchester United have a tough outing ahead of them, when they host Liverpool on Sunday. Liverpool go to the game second in the league standings, with 18 points while Manchester United have dropped to sixth, on 14 points. United have had a dip in form and have struggled in their recent matches. Though they beat Atalanta 3-2 in the last game, they had to come from 2-0 down to do it, and in their last league game, they lost 4-2 to Leicester City. United haven’t been entirely comfortable this season, especially defensively; they have conceded 12 goals in their eight league matches. Both teams have scored in four of their last five matches and they have no clean sheet in the last nine games. In the league, United have no win in the last three matches.

Liverpool are on a completely opposite pedestal; they are unbeaten in their 12 matches this season, winning nine. They are coming from a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in Spain, that being the eighth game in 10 that they’ve managed three or more goals. Mohamed Salah has been outstanding for the Reds, scoring 12 goals so far this season. He was on the mark with a brace against Atletico, one of them the winning goal and he has now scored in each of the last nine Liverpool matches he has played in. In the league, Liverpool haven’t had trouble playing away from home, in fact, they’ve scored three or more goals in each of their last five away Premier League matches. This is their second straight away league game and in the last, they thumped Watford 5-0.
