Jesse Marsch is having a torrid start to his reign as Leipzig manager and it isn’t about to get easier after back to back losses to Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich. They are set to travel to England to face Manchester City in Group A as the Champions League gets underway. Manchester City have three straight wins ahead of this game, having seen off Leicester City 1-0 in their latest game. That was City’s third straight clean sheet and in the three games, they’ve scored 11 goals. The only time this season that they failed to score was in their opening league game against Tottenham Hostspur, when they lost 1-0. City’s last Champions League game was in the final, against Chelsea last season. They have 11 wins in 13 matches in the competition. City have scored two or more goals in four of their last five Champions League matches.

Leipzig were completely outclassed by Bayern Munich in their last match, losing 4-1 at home, and here they have another tough opponent to face, while already burdened with three losses in four. They’ve failed to score in two of their last four matches and with six losses in the last 10 matches, they are outright underdogs. The visitors haven’t done well away from home either, winning just once in the last five and that was against lower tier side Sandhausen. They’ve lost the other four and have just one clean sheet in the run. In the Champions League, Leipzig have conceded two or more goals in their last four matches and they’ve lost three of the last five.
