Lyon and Toulouse will square off at Groupama Stadium on matchday 18 of Ligue 1. Lyon is sixth in the league standings and is four points ahead of Toulouse in eighth place. Here's our match prediction. 

Lyon were sent packing in the French Cup round of 32 as they lost to fifth-tier Bourgoin-Jallieu on penalties (4-2) after playing out a 2-2 in regulation time.

Before this, Les Gones was on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline against Brest over the weekend. It has to be pointed out that this was a league match and this marked their second loss in twelve games.

The Groupama Stadium has been their stronghold this season. The team has escaped defeat in their last five matches, recording four wins and a solitary draw, and are currently on a three-match winning streak. 

In contrast, Toulouse was in a celebratory mood as they comfortably beat Stade Lavallois Mayenne 2-1 at home in the French Cup round of 32, bringing them closer to clinching their second championship in this competition. 

Le Téfécé has been climbing the ranks with ease as they have won six of their last ten Ligue 1 outings. This is an improved display, having won just one of their first seven matches (D2, L4).

In their previous league game, they were beaten 2-1 at home against Strasbourg, halting a two-match winning streak.
