Only the Milwaukee Bucks have won more games this season than the Los Angeles Lakers. The leaders of the Western Conference Pacific Divison aim for win number 37 when hosting the Portland Trail Blazers. The Lakers top the Western Conference overall with a 36-10 season record. They need to keep winning though as they are only three wins ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers in the Pacific Division. The pair were due to meet on January 28 but that game was postponed after the Kobe Bryant tragedy. The Lakers have won 16 of their 21 home games this season. January has seen them win five out of six at home so they will hope to carry that form into February.

The Portland Trail Blazers are also in the Western Conference but fourth in the Northwest Division. They have a 21-27 season record and have lost 16 of their 25 away games this season. The Trail Blazers are tenth overall and will need a strong finish to make it into postseason. Three of their last four games have been won but all of those victories came at home. Their last two away games have both ended in defeat and another one is on the horizon. The tip here is to back the Lakers with at -8.5 points.
