Liverpool and AC Milan are set for an epic Champions League clash at Anfield on Wednesday after good starts in their domestic leagues. Both remain unbeaten and are joint top in their leagues. Liverpool are coming from a 3-0 win over Leeds United in their weekend game, registering a third clan sheet in four matches. It was also the third time in four matches that they’ve scored two or more goals. Mohamed Salah scored in that game too, his third goal in four matches, and with six goals in the last 10 Champions League matches, he is in the form Liverpool would like for this game. The Reds have six wins in their last 10 Champions League matches, and failed to score in just two of the 10. This will be the first meeting with Milan since the 2007 Champions League final.

Milan go to their first ever game at Anfield and heading to just their third competitive meeting with Liverpool in history. The two previous meetings have been in final matches of the Champions League. They are from a 2-0 win over Lazio in Serie A, a third straight win and second clean sheet in three. They’ve scored seven goals in the three matches and will have an extra edge in attack with the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede even scored against Lazio as he marked a return from injury. Milan are unbeaten in eight competitive matches and as they return to the Champions League after a seven-year absence, they’ll want to make their presence felt.
