Leicester City managed three matches against Manchester United undefeated last season; this time they need that form more, as they play host to United in Round 8 action in the Premier League. A poor start to the campaign sees Leicester 13th with eight points after seven games while United are fourth with 14 points. Leicester City have been poor defensively this season and that has formed the bulk of their problems. Their only clean sheet in the last 10 matches was against Millwall in the League Cup and going to this game, they dropped a two-goal lead before drawing 2-2 with Crystal Palace. Leicester have conceded two goals in four of their last six matches, and both teams have scored in six of the last 10. Jamie Vardy has delivered in attack, with six goals in 10 games, but it is the leaky defence that has continued to let the Foxes down. In the last four league matches, they are winless and haven’t kept a clean sheet in the seven league games so far. At home, they are also winless in the last three games they’ve hosted.

Manchester United are also on a shaky run, but aren’t as badly off as Leicester. In the last game, they drew 1-1 with Everton, and will go to this game searching for a second clean sheet in 11 matches. Just like Leicester, they’ve been shaky in defence and ahead of this game, both teams have scored in seven of the 10 played this season. In their last two league matches, United are winless, but they have a fine run away from home in the league – unbeaten in 29. This will be a tough game for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Harry Maguire out injured and Raphael Varane picking injury on international duty. The injury headache will extend to Marcus Rashford still staying out but the manager will have more to worry about in defence than attack. United have a very tough run of matches ahead and Solskjaer will hope they can bank three points from this. After failing to win in the last two matches, United have matches against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City coming next.
