Leicester City need to win this game to maintain their hopes of a second place finish in the Premier League. They are currently third in the table but the gap between them and Manchester City in second is now four points. Leicester are still 11 points clear of fifth placed Sheffield United, so a return to the Champions League is looking good. As for their opponents, their hopes rest on an appeal against their two-year ban. Leicester have struggled when playing the very best teams in the Premier League. The reverse fixture saw them lose 3-1 at City and that was swiftly followed by a 4-0 home drubbing by Liverpool. They rallied with two straight league wins but since then have just one victory in their last five matches. Home form had seen them win seven in a row but only West Ham have been beaten in the last five.

Manchester City returned to Premier League action with a 2-0 home win over West Ham on Wednesday. They are in clear second but still 22 points behind Liverpool. The league leaders are a dominant side but the size of their lead is more down to the problems City have had. Pep Guardiola's team have lost six league games this season, winning eight less than Liverpool in the league. Only one of their last six league games have been lost (at Tottenham) with four wins out of six on their travels. They do tend to have some costly slip-ups such as losses to Wolves (twice) and Norwich City. A bet on both teams scoring looks the safest way to make a profit.
