Leeds United are coming from a win over Southampton and have a second straight home game, against Aston Villa as the Premier League goes into Round 26. With 35 points garnered, Leeds are placed 10th in the standings while Villa have 36 points and are eighth. The first objective of the season, for Leeds united was to secure survival. That seems achieved, with 13 games to go and they can only target a higher finish. It hasn’t been great though in their recent matches; the team comes carrying six losses and just two clean sheets in the last 10 matches. Seven of the 10 matches have produced three goals or more, in part because of a great attack and partly due to a porous defence. Leeds have scored the fourth-most goals (43) in the league, but have also conceded 43, which hands them the tag for the poorest defence in the top 10. Their win over Southampton was the second straight at home and also a second straight clean sheet there, so they’ll be aiming at more in this game. One aspect they’ll have to address, is the fact that they take too long to settle in games, and as a result, mainly stage their fights in the second half. In their last five matches, Leeds have scored eight goals, and seven have come in the second half.

Aston Villa are also having a good season, going by their targets at the start of the campaign. For a team that fought relegation last season, this has been a very rewarding campaign, though it hasn’t been all good lately. They’re coming from a 2-1 loss to Leicester City and have just three wins in their last 11 matches. In six of their last 11 matches, both sides have been able to score and Villa hold the tag for the lowest scorers in the top 10, with 37 goals. Ahead of this clash, Villa have two straight away clean sheets, but only one win, and three losses in their last six away games. They’ve conceded seven goals and scored four in their last five away matches and only scored multiple goals in two of their last 11 matches. In the last 11 matches still, Villa have conceded two or more goals in six. One of their best forwards, Jack Grealish is a doubt for this game, with a calf injury while Matty Cash, another key man, is out with a thigh injury.
