AS Roma have the chance to draw level on points with second placed Inter if winning this game. They are currently third in Serie A, five places and six points above hosts Lazio. Roma come into this match with only one loss in their last eight league games. That was a 4-1 defeat at Atalanta, the week before Christmas. That was the second time they have conceded four goals in an away league game this season, also letting in four at Napoli. Roma have won four away league fixtures though and they do score regularly on their travels though. Recent wins at Bologna and Crotone, were achieved with eight goals scored. Eight away league games this season have seen 33 goals scored and a few more are likely in this game. Their most recent game saw them draw 2-2 at home to Inter. They led in that game but needed a late goal to rescue a point. Both teams have scored in six of their last seven league matches and eight of the last 11 on the road.

Lazio are only three points behind the final Europa League place but have played a game more. They may be in the last sixteen of the Champions League this season but a loss here won't help their hopes of European football next season. Form has improved though with two wins over Napoli and Fiorentina to boost their European qualification hopes.
