Zalgiris Kaunas have won six of their last seven EuroLeague games against Crvena Zvezda. The two teams renew rivalry in the 2026-27 EuroLeague Round 1 fixture at Beogradska Arena on Thursday, with our prediction backing the visitors. 

Crvena Zvezda's EuroLeague campaign last season ended in the Play-in tournament where they fell 80–72 to Barcelona. The prospects aren't looking brighter for the Serbian giants heading into the new season. 

The Red-Whites rounded off their preparatory friends with a 91–87 victory over Aris but had lost three of their preceding games before that. They will also be looking to end a run of three consecutive defeats in competitive outings from last season.

Zalgiris Kaunas' journey in Europe's elite tier last season ended in the play-off quarterfinals, where they fell by just four points in overtime to Fenerbahce. The Green-Whites will be out to set the pace for a deeper run this term with a strong performance in Thursday's opener. 

They have already signaled their preparedness for a stronger campaign with back-to-back wins in their opening two Lithuanian championship fixtures, including a 93–69 victory over Neptunas on Sunday. Tomas Masiulis' side have won their last 14 competitive fixtures dating back to last season and hold a solid 6–1 record in their last seven EuroLeague meetings with Crvena Zvezda.
