For the fourth time this season, Karolina Muchova and Cori Gauff will square off. This showdown in the semi-finals at Wimbledon is their eighth career meeting and the third at a major. Gauff has dominated this fixture, and our prediction backs her to win here too.

Muchova’s splendid form sees her play her first semi-final at SW19. The Czech star has done well not only at this major but also on grass throughout the season. Muchova, who has compiled a 34-8 record, hasn’t lost in nine straight fixtures.

To extend this streak, she beat Naomi Osaka in the quarter-finals in straight sets. A winner of two titles this season, the 29-year-old, a one-time Grand Slam finalist, has shot up to sixth in the live ranking.

Gauff lost to Muchova via a decider in Stuttgart. Though it was her first loss in a rather one-sided fixture, she will be wary of facing an in-form familiar foe.

Gauff is also having a career run at the All England Club. Before this season, she had never made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon. Now she is only two wins from her first title here and third at a major.

Gauff, who is up to fourth in the live ranking, outlasted compatriot Jessica Pegula in the last round. She won in three sets, fighting her way back from an opening set loss for the second match in a row.
