It didn't take 14th seed Learner TIen much to have his best run in the US Open. Before this year. he had suffered four first round exits in New York. This year sees him in round four and he takes on unseeded Karen Khachanov who is ranked 35 places below him. Our prediction here is a win for Tien.

The winner will be up against either 24th seed Francisco Cerundolo or 28th-seed Alexander Blockx.

Learner Tien was a recent semi-finalist on this surface in the Canadian Open. Three other ATP Tour outdoor hard court tournaments this year have seen him get to at least the last eight with one other semi-final reached. This is his first match against his opponent.

Karen Khachanov made it to the last here in 2022. That's the only other time that the Russian has progressed past the third round until this year.

Khachanov is 38th in the ATP Live Race and that's 20 places below his opponent. He had lost his last four matches before this tournament got underway, three of them on outdoor hard courts. Khachanov has shown better form in New York with only one set lost.

That was in round two when he beat third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.
