Jonny Clayton and Luke Humphries will face off in the second semi-final at the 2026 Premier League Darts Playoffs on Thursday at the O2 Arena. Cool Hand has won six of his last 10 matches against the Ferret, and our prediction is that the Englishman will come out on top in this one as well.
Jonny Clayton was the standout performer through the first half of the Premier League season, but a dip in performance saw him end the group stage in second place, nine points behind Luke Littler.
The Ferret ended the group stage with a 97.55 three-dart average, including 88 180s. However, his greatest strength was his closing, converting the league’s best 44.77% of checkout attempts.
Clayton lost back-to-back first rounds on Night 15 and 16. He is 5-5 in his last 10 matches in all competitions, but did beat this opponent 6-5 in their last encounter on April 9.
Meanwhile, Luke Humphries was the best player over the second half of the season. He surged to third place (27 points) by reaching the finals of each of the last four nights in the competition.
Cool Hand eventually ended the group stage with the highest three-dart average (101.20) and the second-most 180s (98). However, his checkout rate (38.05%) could use improvement.
Humphries has won 13 of his last 14 matches in all competitions, a period during which he also won the Players Championship 17 event on May 18.

Our Jonny Clayton vs Luke Humphries Prediction
Jonny Clayton was by far the best player over the first half of the Premier League season, but his form has tailed off in recent weeks, which was far from ideal leading up to the Playoffs.
In contrast, Luke Humphries was the most in-form player in the competition over the past month, and he arrives at the O2 with solid momentum behind him. This should be an entertaining matchup, but we fancy the defending champ to progress to the final. Our Jonny Clayton vs Luke Humphries prediction is Luke Humphries -1.5.
