World No. 19 Jiri Lehecka faces 53rd-ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas in the US Open third round tonight. Lehecka has won each of his last five matches against lower-ranked opponents, including his last two meetings with Tsitsipas, hence our prediction backing the Czech to come out on top.

Jiri Lehecka appears poised for a stronger and deeper run in the US Open after his Round of 32 exit to Arthur Fils in the Cincinnati Open. The former World No. 12 kicked off his campaign with a 3–1 victory over Spaniard Pablo Carreno-Busta.

He blasted seven aces to defeat Briton Toby Samuel in straight sets in the second round, winning 6–4, 6–2, 6–4 on Wednesday. Notably, Wednesday's victory extended the Czech Republic No. 1's winning streak against lower-ranked players to five. Can he build on this record to ace this clash?

Stefanos Tsitsipas opened his US Open campaign with a shock victory over Arthur Fils in the first round and then came from a set down to defeat 139th-ranked Lloyd Harris 7–6(7–1), 3–6, 6–7(4–7), 4–6 in the second round on Wednesday. 

However, the 13-time ATP champion faces a tough task tonight against higher-ranked Lehecka. He has lost three of his last four matches against higher-ranked opponents on hard courts, including his last two meetings with Jiri Lehecka.
