The 35-year-old has twice previously retired from the WTA Tour but made a return. Last year saw her on the sidelines due to an ACL injury. Sevastova didn't play until April this year but showed good form in Madrid where she got to the third round.

Both of her matches this week have been won in straight sets. Two tie-breaks were needed to get past Aliona Bolsova in the last round.
