Neither of these players have previously reached a Grand Slam quarter-final. 26th seed Jakub Mensik will play 28th-seeded Joao Fonseca on Tuesday in the French Open. Both players have already had some long matches and another looks likely, so our prediction is more than 37.5 games.

In the last four, the winner will take on either second seed Alexander Zverev or 27th-seeded Rafael Jodar.

Jakub Mensik is playing at Roland Garros for only the second time and lost in round two last year. The 20-year-old is having his best run on clay this year. His previous best had been reaching round four in Madrid with two other second round exits.

So far at Roland Garros, he has beaten both eighth seed Alex de Minaur and 11th-seeded Andrey Rublev.

Two of his last three matches have had more than 37.5 games played.

Joao Fonseca is a year younger than his opponent and also making just his second appearance here, only reaching round three last year. He is playing in his third clay court quarter-final of the year but hasn't progressed further.

He's also defeated two seeds so far. After beating third seed Novak Djokovic, Fonseca knocked out 15th-seeded Casper Ruud in the last 16.
