The Premier League returns this weekend with matchday six and we’ve got 11th-place Ipswich Town hosting 19th-placed Fulham at Portman Road. Both the Tractor Boys and the Cottagers have been leaking goals, with a combined one clean sheet between the two sides. Our prediction, therefore, backs plenty of good goalscoring chances at both ends.
Ipswich's opening day victory and thrilling win over Palace last month has them sitting firmly in mid-table with their six-point tally. It's been a decent start for the hosts, who will be looking to avoid a repeat of the 2024-25 campaign, which ended in a 19th-place finish and relegation.
Fulham have experienced a much more worrying start to the 2026-27 league season, although recent performances hint that Alvaro Arbeloa's philosophy might be starting to take shape within the squad. They started the season with three straight losses before a pair of spirited displays against Liverpool and Manchester United saw Fulham manage draws in both fixtures. With that being said, the visitors are still sitting 19th in the standings on two points, although a win here would see them move out of the relegation zone.

Ipswich Town - Fulham: Form Analysis
Ipswich come into this match looking for a spark after suffering back-to-back defeats. They were beaten convincingly at home 4-2 by Arsenal in the EFL Cup and followed that up with a 1-0 away loss to Everton. The Toffees struck early in the first half and a second half red to Fatawu made it hard for Gary O'Neil's side to find a way back into it.
They gave up 2.24 xG and five clear-cut chances to Everton, and saw a second goal ruled out by VAR, so they were lucky not to have conceded more.
It was the third defeat of the 2026-27 Premier League campaign for Ipswich, with the result now leaving them sitting 11th in the standings.
Arbeloa might feel hard done by to have walked away with only a point against Manchester United.
It appeared as though Fulham were headed towards a much-needed three points against the Red Devils at home in matchday five. They led 1-0 before Cunha's 89th-minute equaliser spared United's blushes and meant that Fulham had to settle for a second consecutive draw.
Still, it was an encouraging performance for the Cottagers and one that they'll surely be looking to build on and replicate going forward.
Fulham are now unbeaten in their last three outings across all competitions, with a 3-2 away win in the EFL Cup squeezed between the 0-0 draw away to Liverpool and the 1-1 against United.

Ipswich Town & Fulham Squad Analysis
Both teams come into this match with a clear idea on who the other team's danger man is. For the Fulham defence, the focus will be on containing Julio Enciso, who has really turned heads so far in the 2026-27 season after making his Ipswich move permanent.
The 22-year-old is electric when he gets the ball, and key suspensions to two of the Tractor Boys' regular starters mean that even more of the attacking load will fall upon the Paraguayan international's shoulders.
There's no mistaking the threat that Enciso provides; he leads the team in shots taken at 17, although only four have been on target and he is yet to score for Ipswich this season, though he has provided two assists.
Gonzalo Garcia ranks eighth among all Premier League players in total shots (15).
As for the home side, they'll have to keep close tabs on Fulham striker Gonzalo Garcia. The former Real Madrid man has only scored a single Premier League goal for the London outfit so far, but he arguably should have more and he constantly pops up in the right places. 13 of his 15 total shots have come in the opposition box, ranking him among the top four strikers in the division for that statistic.
Ipswich will be without the aforementioned Sasa Lukic and Abdul Fatawu through suspension but otherwise have no injury concerns. Fulham, meanwhile, will be without Kenny Tete and Tom Cairney.

Our Ipswich Town vs Fulham Prediction
Neither of these teams's defences have given their supporters much reason for confidence, and we believe that trend will continue here. Fulham and Ipswich both rank in the bottom five for xG allowed, which points towards a match with plenty of chances at both ends.
Enciso gives the hosts a real attacking threat, while Fulham have created more than their five goals would suggest. With just one clean sheet between them in the league, we see these teams having enough about them to clear 2.5 goals. Our Ipswich Town vs Fulham prediction: over 2.5 goals.
Ipswich Town vs Fulham Alternative Predictions
Ipswich Town wins
Fulham have certainly had their struggles to start the season, especially away from home where they are yet to score a goal. Their winless away record also stretches back seven league games to last season. Ipswich have scored in three of their five league fixtures and showed against Sunderland that they can provide a real threat to teams at Portman Road. At this price, it's worth a punt on the home team to walk away with all three points.
