Inter have made a steady start to the new Serie A season. They are seventh in the table and look to get three points at home to Torino who are one place above the relegation zone. The home side have won three of their first five games and are five points off the top of the table. Only one league game has been lost this season, a painful 2-1 home loss to Milan. They began the new season with two wins and nine goals. Since then they have only won one of their last five Serie A matches, a victory at Genoa who are in the relegation zone. They had to come from 2-0 down at home to get a draw with Parma. Their most recent league match saw them fail to hold onto a lead at Atalanta and drew 1-1. Home form has seen them go two league games without a win. They are unbeaten in their last four home league games against Torino, though two of the last three have been drawn.

Torino are in trouble down at the bottom of the table. They are 17th, only out of the bottom three on goal difference. Only one of their seven league games has been won this season. Only one point was earned from their first five league games. Then, just like their opponents, they went to Genoa and came away with a win. They followed that up with a disappointing 0-0 home draw against bottom of the table Crotone. Their poor form is a continuation of how last season ended. Torino ended the 2019/20 season just two places above the relegation zone with only three wins in their last 15 fixtures with just two points from their final eight away league games. That win at Genoa ended a run of 12 away games without a win.
