Hertha Berlin vs Union Berlin Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga

Neck and neck in the table, Hertha Berlin, 11th, and Union Berlin, 12th, clash for the second time this season in what will be the first Berlin derby to be played being closed doors. One point separates the sides going into this encounter with Hertha making a winning return on Saturday. A subject of derision for much of the season, Hertha looked like a side transformed under new boss Bruno Labbadia when they travelled to Hoffenheim last weekend. A slick performance led to a 3-0 victory for the away side with goals from Ibisevic and Cunha following an own-goal early in the second half. Cunha's goal was a skilful individual effort that saw him lose his marker with a smart turn on the touchline before running in and slotting past the goalkeeper from an acute angle. It showed that form could be maintained despite the massive break as the Brazilian 20-year-old made it three goals in three games. 

Union had no such joy and they probably didn't expect a winning return given that they were facing league leaders Bayern Munich. They were holding the favourites at bay until late in the first half when veteran defender Neven Subotic gave away a penalty. The former Dortmund hero swung a lazy leg to clear the ball from the penalty box, only to catch a Bayern player coming in on his blindside. The type of mistake we expect to see less of when players get match awareness back up to speed. Union beat Hertha in their last meeting but that was in front of raucous home support. We wouldn't advise reading too much into Hertha's positive result just yet and therefore advise backing a draw.
