Gwangju and Gimcheon posted mixed results in their last outings and will face off this Tuesday, eyeing three K League 1 points. The hosts, Gwangju, will start the new week placed sixth, four places behind Gimcheon. As the two prepare to meet, here is our overview and a prediction for the match.

Gwangju are coming off their seventh defeat, 2-1 against struggling Suwon. A flurry of late goals settled the game; Gwangju took the lead in the 78th minute through Jasir Asani’s penalty goal.

However, Suwon’s new signing, Willyan, leveled five minutes to time, before Kim Kyung-Min scored a stoppage-time own goal. That broke their four-match unbeaten run, but they won the last two home games against Gimcheon.

While Gwangju battled Suwon, Gimcheon staged their own comeback against Daegu, winning 3-2 away from home. For Gimcheon, who were trailing 2-0 after 22 minutes, Won Ki-Jong rose from the bench to grab a 92nd-minute winner.

That was the fourth time in their last six matches that a goal was scored after the 80th minute. The win also ensured the visitors recovered from the loss to Jeonbuk earlier, and it was their third win in six matches.

In the league away from home, though, they’ve managed one win in the last three. Gimcheon failed to score in their last two meetings with Gwangju and will hope to do better.
