The Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings will face off in their final Indian Premier League group-stage match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. GT lead the standings with 18 points, while CSK are bottom of the table with six points. Check out our match prediction below!

The Gujarat Titans have enjoyed an excellent league phase in this year’s competition and are set to end the round-robin stage in top spot for the third time in four seasons. While the top four spots are already locked in, this match is crucial for the Titans as a win should secure home advantage in the Playoffs.

The Chennai Super Kings have known their fate for a while now, and they will be taking their final bow in this year’s competition in this match. Unsurprisingly, bookmakers have GT as clear favourites in this match, but can CSK pull off one last upset before exiting the competition?

Gujarat Titans - Chennai Super Kings: Form Analysis

After a shaky start to the competition, the Gujarat Titans have surged back to the top of the table with nine wins and four defeats in 13 games, while maintaining a solid net run rate of +0.602.

However, GT will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in this match after suffering an unexpected 33-run defeat to the already-eliminated Lucknow Super Giants on Thursday afternoon.

Chasing 235/2, only Shahrukh Khan managed to produce a half-century for the Titans in the last match, but their biggest downfall was their bowling attack, which managed just a mere two wickets.

That defeat to LSG ended the Gujarat Titans' three-match win streak!

Meanwhile, the 2025 IPL season has been an absolute nightmare for the Chennai Super Kings, who have only won three of their 13 games to date - their worst return in recent history.

CSK have lacked their usual batting firepower this year, and that was clearly evident again in their last match, which they lost by six wickets to second-bottom Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday afternoon.

These teams have faced off seven times in the past, and the Gujarat Titans have the upper hand in the head-to-head standings, with four wins to the Chennai Super Kings’ three.

Gujarat Titans & Chennai Super Kings Squad Analysis

The Gujarat Titans will have a major void to fill in the Playoffs, with Jos Buttler set to depart and join up with the England national team for their upcoming series against the West Indies.

However, they still have plenty of firepower at the top of the order with Sai Sudharsan and Subman Gill, who have notched up 638 and 636 runs, respectively, in the competition to date.

The Indian batting duo currently occupy the first and second spots in the Orange Cap standings, 50+ runs clear of Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians in third place.

Prasidh Krishna currently holds the Purple Cap with 21 wickets to date!

As mentioned, there is very little to discuss about the Chennai Super Kings' batting order this season, with none of their batsman currently featuring in the top 15 run-scorers in the competition.

The only player worth mentioning is Noor Ahmad, who has been one of the standout bowlers this season, currently tied with Krishna on 21 wickets, though he has bowled five overs fewer.

Our Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings Prediction

Given the way these sides have performed this season, it’s difficult to make much of a case for the Chennai Super Kings in this match, especially considering that several of their foreign players have not returned after the league’s stoppage.

The Gujarat Titans need to win this match to stand a chance of clinching a top-two finish, which will give them home advantage in the Playoffs, and we feel they will be able to get the job done. Our Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings prediction is Gujarat Titans wins the match.
