Struggling Virtus Bologna will be at home to welcome Panathinaikos for matchday 32 of the 2023/24 EuroLeague. Both teams have already confirmed qualification for the playoffs with Panathinaikos in fourth place and Bologna in eighth. The regular season is coming to a close and after this round, only two more rounds remain. Bologna will hope to use their last remaining three fixtures to climb out of the play-in places. Luca Banchi’s men have compiled a 17-14 record and can finish as high as sixth if other results also favour them. They however need to be at their absolute best to achieve this. The Italian side has been struggling in recent weeks. They have managed just three wins in their last 10 games across all competitions and have lost four straight in Europe. Bologna snapped a four-game losing run last time out by defeating Brescia in a top-of-the-table Serie A matchup. The win allowed them to maintain their hold on top spot. Isaia Cordinier and Daniel Hackett have been sidelined recently with injuries but could be available to play here.

Panathinaikos are also looking to confirm an automatic playoff spot. Unlike Bologna, this is in their hands. They just need to win their games and they will confirm a top-six finish. The Greek heavyweights have won 20 of 31 matches which is one more than seventh placed Maccabi. Ergin Ataman’s men can finish no higher than second if other results favour them. The Greens have been in excellent form and have won eight of their last 10 games across all competitions. They are on a three-match winning run. Panathinaikos defeated Prometheas 93-62 last time out to maintain their lead atop the Greek topflight. They have won their last two EuroLeague games and defeated Barcelona 89-81 last time out in the competition. Panathinaikos, who are averaging 81.5 points in Europe, have defeated Bologna twice in their last three meetings. They lost the last time they were away in this fixture. The Shamrock defeated Bologna 90-76 in the reverse game back in November.
