Denmark are two wins away from adding the European title to the World Championship they won last year. All three of their Preliminary Round matches were won and each in good style. They scored 100 goals in their three matches against the Czech Republic, Greece and Portugal with a goal difference of +31. Two points were carried into the Main Round and wins over the Netherlands and defending European Champions Sweden saw them in the last four with a game to spare. Their final match in the Main Round saw them beaten by Slovenia. That loss ended a run of 27 games without defeat and was their first loss since 2022.

Germany are the hosts for these European Men’s Handball Championships. They have won this title on two previous occasions, the last time being 2016. This is their first semi-final appearance since that last title triumph. The Germans were in Group A in the Preliminary Round and finished second behind France, who they could meet again in the final. Germany beat Switzerland and North Macedonia in their first couple of games by a total winning margin of 22 goals with Juri Knorr scoring 16 times. The group ended with a 33-30 loss to France. That saw them enter the Main Round without any points. They still managed to finish second though with wins over Iceland and Hungary with a draw against Austria and losing to Croatia in their final group match. We go for Denmark to win this match on a -3.5 goal handicap.
