Belgian Grand Prix Qualifying Predictions & Betting tips - Formula 1
by Devesh Jaganath |
Round 10 of the 2026 Formula 1 season takes us to the iconic Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton finished second in Free Practice 1 on Friday, and we are backing the seven-time champion to start in the top three on Sunday as our main prediction.
If FP1 was anything to go by, we should be in for a thrilling Belgian Grand Prix as Mercedes struggled to find their best, with Kimi Antonelli only managing sixth, while George Russell was down in eighth.
Max Verstappen was somewhat surprisingly the fastest in the first free practice of the weekend, going 0.145s faster than Lewis Hamilton and two-tenths quicker than the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc.
By finishing on the podium, Hamilton took a big bite out of Antonelli’s lead last week at Silverstone and continues to underscore the improvement both he and Ferrari have made in the 2026 season.
The Brit is now set to feature in his 20th consecutive Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, and beyond the driver standings, he could equal Michael Schumacher’s record of six wins at Spa-Francorchamps.
Ferrari look like they mean business this weekend, and unless Mercedes can address their “reliability issues”, we could see the driver championship come to life ahead of Hungary.

Our Belgian Grand Prix Qualifying - Formula 1 prediction
After Silverstone, the F1 Driver Championship battle is really starting to heat up, and after FP1 here in Belgium, Mercedes are looking increasingly vulnerable, with reliability issues plaguing their progress.
Max Verstappen was surprisingly fastest in FP1, but it will be interesting to see how he goes in the lead-up to qualifying. For us, Lewis Hamilton is the danger this weekend, and given his record at Spa-Francorchamps, we feel he will start the Belgian Grand Prix in the top three. Our Belgian Grand Prix Qualifying prediction is Lewis Hamilton top 3 finish.
