Wild card Federico Cina takes on unseeded Damir Dzumhur in round one of the European Open in Brussels. The winner of this match will take on second-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime. Time for our first round match prediction.

Federico Cina is 224th in the live rankings with a career high of 202nd. After what happened in Shanghai, anything could happen.  The 18-year-old Frenchman has an 18-9 record on hard courts this year. He's spent 2025 playing on the ITF and Challenger Tours. One ITF title was won in January.

This is his fourth ATP Tour event of the year and he made it to round two in Miami and Madrid. 

Damir Dzumhur is much higher in the rankings and is 68th in the live rankings. He was as high as 23rd but that was achieved seven years ago. The 33-year-old has won 11 hard court matches this year but lost the same number.

Dzumhur has won one Challenger Tour hard court event but it was a higher quality one than usual with players such as Miomir Kecmanovic, Benjamin Bonzi and Jakub Mensik beaten that week. Recent form is poor though with his last four matches all ending in defeat.

This looks like a good chance for him to get back into winning ways and we tip him to win.
