Premier League giants Chelsea are going through some stagnation and will be hoping they can get back to winning ways in their trip to Russia, where they are scheduled to face Krasnodar in Group E of the UEFA Champions League. On Match Day 1 in this group, both sides drew; Chelsea playing it 0-0 with Sevilla as Krasnodar were held 1-1 by Rennes in France. Back at home, it got tougher for Krasnodar, losing 3-1 at the hands of Spartak Moscow. That result meant Krasnodar have no clean sheet in their last eight matches, and just one in their last 11. Six of their last 10 matches have ended in over 2.5 goals and they have scored in 10 of their last 11. Krasnodar are not known to be fast starters; in their last five matches, they have scored just one first half goal, but six in the second half. Both sides have scored in Krasnodar’s last six home matches as well, with each of the last four ending in over 2.5 goals. It is not going so well for Krasnodar back at home in the league and they will be hoping to get some reprieve in Europe as they meet Chelsea for the first time in their history.

Chelsea have drawn each of their last three matches, and despite having an expensively assembled team, they have not been entirely convincing so far this season. They have failed to score in their last two matches and have one win in their last six games. The Blues had another uninspiring performance at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Saturday, drawing 0-0, though they should have had a first half penalty in the game. While not all has gone their way, all signs point to a side improving defensively as they haven’t conceded in three of their last four matches. Chelsea however head to Russia with a run of three winless away matches; the last time they won away was on the opening day of the season, beating Brighton 3-1. Still, that win was labored and they will be hoping for a bit more comfort here after winning just three of their last 11 away games. They have failed to score in just two of the 11 away matches and with more Champions League experience, Chelsea will be favorites.
