Everton vs Newcastle Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Everton play host to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday evening. Writing prior to the 23rd round of Premier League fixtures, Everton are 11th in the table, two points ahead of Newcastle in 13th. The Toffees are now under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, the veteran Italian coach having taken over the club around Christmas. Results have improved with him in charge, Everton winning three of their last four Premier League games. They are one of the division's form teams and have forwards who are finding the back of the net regularly in Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison. It was the former of those two strikers who scored in their most recent meeting with Newcastle. The reverse fixture took place a few short weeks ago, Ancelotti being in charge for the 2-1 win in Tyneside. Calvert-Lewin has looked like a better player since his appointment.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have been struggling in recent weeks while trying to cope with an injury crisis that has ravaged their squad. Steve Bruce has watched his team fall to four defeats in their last six outings. Two of those defeats came on the road, Newcastle being winless in their last four away matches. Bruce needs to curb this slide if he is to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle. Newcastle don't have much firepower going forward (only scoring 21 goals in 22 games) so need to recover the solidity they became synonymous with during the Rafa Benitez years. One clean sheet in their last seven matches doesn't inspire confidence though. We expect this to be another negative result and back Everton to win to nil.
