Empoli are coming from a tough away match and will be looking to get back to winning ways when they play host to Cremonese in their next Italian Serie A game. These two sides are lowly placed in the league, Empoli 14th with 14 points, and Cremonese 18th on seven points. Empoli’s last game was away to the league leaders, Napoli, and though they managed to hold on for long periods, they eventually succumbed, and lost 2-0. Cremonese come into this game as the only side in the Serie A yet to win a game after 14 weeks of action. They will be making another attempt here after impressively holding AC Milan to a 0-0 draw at home. That was Cremonese’s third straight draw, and seventh in the Serie A. They have seven losses and seven draws in their opening 14 league matches this season. Cremonese’s only win in the last five matches was in the Coppa Italia, 4-2 at home against Serie B side Modena and even that had to go all the way to extra time after a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes. It will also be worth noting that Modena played that game with 10 men from the 22nd minute after Luca Magnino’s sending off. After that game, Cremonese scored just two goals in the four matches that followed. They are winless in four and failed to score in three, with three of the four producing under 2.5 goals.
