Wildcard Elias Ymer and the qualifier Dino Prizmic will play each other in the second round at the Stockholm Open on Thursday. The winner will then proceed to play either top seed Holger Rune or unseeded Miomir Kecmanovic. Elias Ymer lost eight games in his 2-0 first-round win over Roberto Bautista Agut. The win ended a two-game losing skid and took his record for the season to 36-35. Ymer’s inconsistencies have also been evident on indoor hard courts where he has lost three more matches than the six he has won. The 27-year-old Swede is currently ranked 168th in the world.
Dino Prizmic stunned sixth seed Jiri Lehecka in the opening round and won in straight sets. The win against a player ranked more than 130 places above him in the world, should greatly add to his confidence. Prizmic is now up 13 places to 152nd in the live ranking which is a new career high. The Croat, who has played largely outside the tour, has compiled an impressive 37-17 record thus far. Twelve of his wins have come in 19 outings on hard courts. His strong performances have produced two titles in the ITF and challenger circuits though none has come on indoor hard courts.
