Tip Dynamo Kyiv - Juventus
Dynamo Kiev lock horns with Juventus at the NSK Olimpijs'kyj when the Champions League returns on Tuesday night. While Juventus are regulars in the competition, this is the first time the Ukrainian giants have made the group stage since 2016/17. Dynamo come into this match on top of their domestic league with three wins and no defeats from five games. They had to dispose of Belgian side Gent in the play-off round, progressing to the competition proper with a 5-1 aggregate win. Juventus changed manager over the summer with former player Andrea Pirlo taking on his first role in senior management, replacing the outgoing Maurizio Sarri. The fact that Sarri left with a league medal in his pocket didn't matter. The Champions League is all that matters for a side no longer satisfied with simply winning the domestic title. Juventus regularly make the latter stages of the competition but have not won it since 1996 and last made the final in 2017. Since then, they have failed to make it past the quarter-final stage.
Domestically, Juventus have had a mixed start, winning their opening game at home to Sampdoria before a 2-2 draw at Roma. Then, controversially, they were awarded three points after Napoli failed to turn up for their fixture in Turin. Their absence was Covid-related as Cristiano Ronaldo's will be from this fixture. The forward is quarantining and that could be bad news for the Italian side. They have failed to win five of their seven away matches in the competition. They have been poor away in Serie A too, failing to win their last five matches on the road domestically. We suggest backing Dynamo double chance.
Key points Dynamo Kyiv - Juventus
Dynamo are unbeaten in their last nine competitive matches.
Dynamo's last participation in the group stage of the UCL was 2016/17.
Juventus have failed to win five of their last seven away UCL matches.
Conclusion Dynamo Kyiv - Juventus
It would be a surprise result on paper but Juventus have been poor away from home for some time. The absence of Cristiano Ronaldo further weakens them and we can see Dynamo grabbing a point. Back the hosts double chance.
