The Denver Nuggets will be at home to welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves for their next NBA regular season fixture. Only half a game separates the two at the top of the West standings with leaders Denver edging second-placed Minnesota. The Nuggets will be desperate for a win here to avoid losing their hold on top spot. Mike Malone’s men were defeated by the Suns at home last time out. They fell 104-97 to see a four-match winning run snapped. But as they have been in exceptional form since the All-Star break, they will be confident of success. Denver have won 15 of their last 18 games since the All-Stars. One of those wins was a 115-112 victory in Minnesota that allowed them to tie this series at 1-1. The Nuggets, who have compiled a 51-22 record, host the final two regular-season matchups with the Timberwolves. Jamal Murray has missed the last three matches with an ankle issue and is likely to not suit up again here. Nikola Jokic is also questionable while Zeke Nnaji is out. The Nuggets have averaged 113 points over their last three matches.

The Timberwolves have clawed their way back to now being just half a game from reassuming top spot in the West. Chris Finch’s men have been more consistent and have won six of their last seven games. They defeated the Pistons 106-91 last time out for their 50th win of the season. Minnesota will move into first place with a win as they will have the head-to-head advantage over Denver. A loss could see them drop back to third. Karl Anthony-Towns remains sidelined with a knee issue but is expected to be back for the playoffs. Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert are questionable for this game as both are dealing with injuries. The Timberwolves have averaged 108 points over their last three matches but have continued to be the number one defensive team.
