The Dallas Mavericks will host the New Orleans Pelicans, seeking to return to winning ways in the NBA. Both teams have had slow starts to the year and sit in the bottom two places in the Western Conference. Read on for our prediction of the match.

The Mavericks are seeking to end a two-game losing streak. This, therefore, is a must-win match for Jason Kidd’s men, who can drop to the bottom of the West standings with a loss.

Dallas, who sit 14th with a 2-5 record, is coming off a 110-102 loss in Houston. The Mavs have been rocked by injuries in these early rounds of the season.

Derrick Lively, Anthony Davis, and Dante Exum have joined long-term absentee Kyrie Irving in the treatment room. All four have been ruled out for the Pelicans’ visit.

The Pelicans are also dealing with significant injuries to some key players. Zion Williamson, who leads the team in six separate categories, sat out the win over the Hornets with a hamstring issue.

He is expected to be out for at least a week and joins long-term absentee Dejounte Murray on the sidelines. Yves Missi is also dealing with an injury and is a doubt for this trip after missing out against the Hornets.

The Pels, who are on the second night of a back-to-back, defeated the Hornets 116-112 to register their first win of the season.
