Crystal Palace were beaten at Everton in their opening Premier League game of the season. The Eagles are 17th in the table and on Friday are home to seventh placed Manchester City who won on Sunday. Our prediction is an away victory for Manchester City.
Palace won the Conference League last season, but were only able to finish 15th in their domestic competition, six points above the relegation zone and a massive 33 behind Manchester City. A form guide for the last five games of the season had them bottom of the table with just two points. They really did just concentrate on their Conference League campaign. After an opening weekend 2-0 loss at Everton, they really need to get something here.
Manchester City lost the Community Shield match to Arsenal two weeks ago. Last weekend saw them host Bournemouth in the Premier League. The Blues trailed 1-0, but two late goals earned them three points. They will look to make it two wins out of two with a win at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace - Manchester City: Form Analysis
Last season had good and bad moments for Crystal Palace. The early part of the season saw them in with a chance of a top ten finish in the Premier League, perhaps even ending up in the European qualification places. Then their Conference League campaign took over and the news of the imminent departure of Glasner caused them problems. Only two points were earned from their last five league fixtures.
Palace need to rediscover their league form.
Their last Premier League win was on April 12 as they beat Newcastle at home. That was the only home win the Eagles had in the last four Premier League fixtures at Selhurst Park last season. The loss at the weekend to Everton was their third in the last four.
One of those defeats was away at Manchester City in mid-May, going down 3-0 at the Etihad. Each of their last seven Premier League games has seen them concede at least a couple of goals.
Two late goals gave Manchester City a 2-1 home win over Bournemouth on Sunday.
Only two of their last 17 league games have been lost. Since that run began, City also won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. They are unbeaten in their last eight away league matches, last being beaten by Manchester United in January.

Both of these clubs have been busy in the transfer market this week. Crystal Palace are still sweating over the future of strikers Jean-Philippe Marteta and Ismala Sarr. The latter is attracting interest from Liverpool, but coach Pierre Sagee insists that his player won't be leaving.

They have made one big signing this week with the arrival of Ayyoub Bouaddi He's joined from Lille for £85.6 million and the central defender may be involved in this game in some way, perhaps starting on the bench.
