There may be a long distance between these two clubs but Crystal Palace v Brighton is still regarded as a derby game. Not many fans of 10th placed Palace will be sending Christmas cards to the supporters of Brighton who are in 12th. Palace are seven points behind the final Champions League place but the same number of points above the relegation zone. They have gone three league games unbeaten but only three goals have been scored in those games. Palace have only scored 14 league goals in 16 games but only 18 have been conceded. 11 of their league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and all bar one of their home league games and that was because Liverpool put three past them. 

Brighton and Hove Albion have gone two league games without defeat and are only three points behind their opponents. They are only four points above the bottom three though and need to become more consistent if they want to climb the table. One good run of form would do that, but a bad patch and they'll face a relegation battle. Only twice this year have they won two league games in a row Of those four victories, three were at home. Where was the other one? It was at Palace when beating them 2-1 in March. Their away form has been poor this season but last time out they won at Arseal. That win ended a run of five defeats in six away matches. A bet on under 2.5 goals to be scored in this game is the suggested wager.
