The big news from the Lakers camp has been the re-emergence of Anthony Davis. The talented, versatile big man scored 55 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a monster game his last time out, which was preceded by a 44 point, 10 rebound performance the previous game. There is a good chance Davis will be able to have another highly efficient game, albeit he’s unlikely to put up the jaw-dropping stats from his last game. Davis’ success could depend on the availability of the Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen, who has established himself as one of the league’s best defensive big men. Allen missed the last five games and remains questionable for this encounter. If he’s out for this one then Cleveland will have little hope at stopping Davis from wreaking havoc on the inside.

It’s hard to pick against the Lakers with the form they are in at the moment, which is something that certainly would have been difficult to say at the beginning of the year. However, with Davis looking like he is finally ready to take over as the main man in Los Angeles, the Lakers have looked like a completely different team the last few weeks. The Cavs have been extremely impressive this season and will likely be around the upper half of the playoff picture come the end of the season. With that being said, this is a bad spot for them despite being at home as they will likely be without a key piece in Jarrett Allen. Take the Lakers and the points in this matchup.
