by Nella Wagah in ATP French Open Predictions
Unseeded Christopher Eubanks will look to cause an upset at the French Open when he battles second seed Jannik Sinner. The two will square off in the first round. Christopher Eubanks is having his worst season as a professional tennis player. The American has compiled a disappointing 4-12 record and is yet to win a match on clay. Currently on a six-match losing run, Eubanks has lost all five matches he has played on clay. He has also managed just one win in his last 11 outings. The American, who has now dropped to 46th in the live ranking, lost in the first round in Geneva in his last match. Eubanks lost in the first round here last season as he made his main draw debut.
Jannik Sinner defeated Eubanks in straight sets at the US Open two seasons ago. He would go on to record his best result at the tournament and will hope the dominoes fall similarly here. Sinner has been the in-form player in the ATP and is a huge favourite to emerge champion. The Italian, who triumphed in Melbourne to win his first major title, has compiled an impeccable 28-3 record. This has resulted in three titles and two semi-final finishes. The world number two made the quarter-finals in his debut at Roland Garros in 2020. He would subsequently make the second week of competition in the next two seasons. Last year, however, he produced his worst finish as he was bundled out after a gruelling five-setter in the second round by Daniel Altmaier. The winner here will play Richard Gasquet or Borna Coric next.

Our Christopher Eubanks vs Jannik Sinner Prediction
Eubanks is having a torrid season and in his last 11 outings, he has lost 10 times. This is the complete contrast to the season that Sinner is having. Sinner has been the in-form player in the ATP and has lost just twice in 30 matches. He won the Australian Open earlier this year and is one of the favourites to emerge champion here. Sinner also defeated Eubanks in straight sets at the US Open two seasons ago. With the above in mind, our prediction for Christopher Eubanks v Jannik Sinner will be a straight sets win for Sinner.
