Sunday’s 2026 Volleyball Nations League schedule will see China taking on Cuba. With both these sides still searching for a win in this competition, our prediction leans toward this match going the distance.
China have yet to win a match in the 2026 VNL, having lost all three of their games so far, 3-2 to Slovenia, and 3-1 to Ukraine and Japan in their second and third games, respectively.
Despite that, they still have two players ranked inside the top-10 point scorers in the competition in Zihua Wen (joint-sixth) and Bin Wang (7th) on 47 and 44 points, respectively.
China are now on a seven- losing streak dating back to this competition last year, where they beat this very opponent 3-2.
Meanwhile, Cuba are the only nation in the 2026 VNL that has yet to earn a point, following back-to-back straight-sets defeats to Poland and Ukraine, before going down 3-2 to Slovenia yesterday.
The one bright spot for the team so far has been Alejandro Miguel Gonzalez, who has 36 points in the competition, including an impressive seven blocks. He is 13th in the point scorer standings.
Cuba have lost seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Their loss to China last year was their first encounter in over a decade.

Our China vs Cuba Prediction
After almost pulling off a massive upset against Slovenia in their opening match, China failed to keep up with Ukraine and Japan, but the positive that they can take is that they have yet to lose a match in straight sets.
Cuba, on the other hand, were very poor in their first two games, but they showed much more fight last time out against Slovenia, which would have given them a boost of confidence. Both these sides will see this as a winnable match, and it would not surprise us if this one went the distance. Our China vs Cuba prediction is over 176.5 points.
