China and Belgium will face off in their second match of Week 2 in the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Thursday. China have lost four of their five matches in this competition, and our prediction is that they will struggle to improve that record in this one.
China have endured a tough 2026 VNL campaign. After losing to Turkiye 3-0 yesterday, they are still sitting in 16th place with just one win in the competition and an SPR of 0.935.
Zihua Wen was once again the team’s top scorer with eight points against Turkiye with eight points, taking his tally in the competition to 68 - the 13th-most of any player after five games.
China have lost eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions. The two previous matches between these teams have been split, one win apiece.
Meanwhile, after winning two of their four games in the first week, Belgium came agonisingly close to upsetting Poland yesterday but fell to a 3-2 defeat, losing the final set 15-13.
Ferre Reggers continued his excellent form in that match, racking up a massive 34 points with a 20.24% efficiency. He is the second-highest scorer in the tournament with 111 points.
Belgium have split their last 10 matches in all competitions, five wins and five defeats.

Our China vs Belgium Prediction
After a very poor home tournament in the first week, China kicked off Week 2 disappointingly as well, losing their first match comprehensively to Turkiye 3-0, while only scoring a mere 56 points in that defeat.
Belgium have been more than decent in their debut season, and almost pulled off another major upset yesterday when they ran Poland to the wire before coming up agonizingly short. Belgium are the team in better rhythm, and we feel they will come out on top in this one. Our China vs Belgium prediction is Belgium wins.
