Wednesday night in the NBA sees the 13th-place Charlotte Hornets hosting the ninth-placed Chicago Bulls in this Eastern Conference clash. With a 10-35 record, the Hornets are the current holders of the fourth-worst winning percentage in the entire NBA (.222). The team have seemingly regressed from the side that finished 14th last season as they are currently on pace to win fewer than the 27 victories they put up in the 2022/23 campaign. They come into this matchup off the back of a heavy 113-92 home loss to the in-form New York Knicks. The defeat represented Charlotte’s fourth in a row and their fifth in the last six games overall. Things haven’t gone much better for the young Hornets at the Spectrum Center either, as they’ve lost their last four in a row in front of the home fans. Charlotte ranks dead-last in the NBA in terms of adjusted net rating (-10.7), worse than even the Pistons, Wizards and Spurs.

The Chicago Bulls come to town looking to shorten the lead between themselves and eighth-place Orlando. Chicago is currently ninth in the East standings with a 22-26 record, putting them two games behind the Magic for a spot in the top eight. The Bulls are coming off a 118-107 away defeat to the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. They’ll have to deal with some potentially tired legs as they gear up for the second leg of a back-to-back. The visitors have certainly improved in recent weeks compared to the start of the season, in large part thanks to the breakout performances of Coby White. The 23-year-old is having a phenomenal year and has averaged 22.1 points, 5.7 assists and 5.5 rebounds over the last 10 games. The result has been a Bulls team that is 6-4 in their last 10 games, with seven of those games taking place on the road.
