Bournemouth will be desperate to get three points when they welcome Newcastle to the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday. The hosts are 18th in the table, level on points West Ham in 17th place and one point behind Watford in 16th. Newcastle, 13th in the table, are essentially free of the fear of relegation as they have built a 12-point gap between themselves and Bournemouth. A win for the Magpies could take them as high as tenth if other results go their way. Newcastle have been in fine form since the restart, extending a four-game unbeaten streak that includes two victories. The usually shot-shy visitors will be pleased with their recent exploits in front of goal as they have netted five times across three matches. What's more is that they have only conceded one goal in this time, which means they have kept three clean sheets in their last four Premier League matches. Steve Bruce will expect the good run to continue against Bournemouth as his team are unbeaten in four games against the Cherries, winning twice. 

Any hope that Bournemouth's terrible form pre-break would benefit from the time off has been quickly extinguished as Eddie Howe's team have lost their two games since returning. Scoring goals has been a big problem for Bournemouth this season and they have failed to score in three of their last five Premier League games. The Cherries are winless in six matches, losing a worrying five. Playing at home has not been as advantageous as one might expect but Bournemouth are unbeaten in four of their last six matches on their own turf. They gave Wolves a good match in their last outing, the main reason for their defeat being that they failed to create any noteworthy chances. Although five of the last six matches between these teams have featured both teams scoring, we expect the pressure on Bournemouth to create conditions for a tense match.
