Millwaukee Bucks won the Central Division of the Eastern Conference and are the number one seeds in the conference play-offs. They had a record of 60-48 in the regular season and that was the first time since 1981 they reached the 60 mark. That division win took them into a quarter-final game against Detroit Pistons looking for their first victory in the play-offs for 18 years. They were up against the Detroit Pistons and won their best-of-seven series 4-0. It was an outstanding performance with the closest winning margin in those games being 16 points. The semi-finals have proved tougher as they take on the Boston Celtics. The first two games were both held at home with honours even. Boston won the first by 22 points after a strong second-half performance but Millwaukee leveled the semi-final with a 123-102 win in the second match, mainly thanks to a dominant third-quarter which they won by 21 points.  The last game was much closer with Millwaukee losing the first half but another good third-quarter helped them to a seven-point win and a 2-1 lead in the tie.

Boston Celtics only finished third in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference with a 49-33 record. That led to them being seeded fourth for the conference play-offs but had a 4-0 sweep over Indiana Pacers to reach this semi-final. They were four close games though with the widest winning margin being ten points. This game is their second at home and they need to cut out that one quarter where their opponents get a good score. The near seven-foot Giannis Antetokounmpo is in good form with 83 points in the first three games of this semi-final. Boston were 28-13 at home in the regular season and can get a narrow win in this match to level the score at 2-2.
