Borussia Dortmund welcomes Besiktas to the Signal Iduna Park for this final round Group C match. Dortmund will have to wait another season to try and make the knockout stages as the best they can finish is third position. They are three points behind second placed Sporting Lisbon but if they end on the same points the Portuguese team will remain above them due to a better head to head record. Dortmund come into this match on the back of a 3-2 loss to arch rival Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Besiktas have had a miserable tournament and are yet to pick up their first points having lost all five of their matches. This will be the first time since the 2015/16 season that Dortmund have failed to qualify for the knockout phase. They have met Turkish opposition nine times previously in European competition and have only lost on one occasion.

Besiktas will be looking to salvage some pride and will try to at least pick up at least a point to avoid the ignominy of ending the group phase on zero points. This will be Besiktas first away game to German opposition since 2018 when they lost 5-0 to Bayern Munich. They have only won one away game to German opposition in six previous attempts. Besiktas have had poor form across all competitions and have won just once in their last ten matches. They drew their last away match 1-1 to Kasimpasa to stop a rot of six consecutive away defeats. They have dropped to ninth position in their domestic Turkish Super League.
