St Andrew’s on Friday night is likely to be full as Birmingham play a glamorous friendly with continental powerhouses Barcelona in a pre-season friendly. This match between the ‘Blues’ and the ‘Blaugrana’ is likely to entertain the fans, with our prediction backing more than 3.5 goals.
This will be Birmingham’s last friendly game of the campaign before they start their competitive games with an away game against Swansea in the EFL Cup next week. Barcelona still have three more friendlies to play before they start their La Liga campaign away at Elche in the last week of August.
Birmingham are looking to build on last season’s 10th-place finish in the EFL Championship as they look to remain in contention for promotion. The Blues have had a strong set of results in the friendlies so far, winning all four, two without even conceding. The Catalans will start the defense of their La Liga title next month and are in the early stages of their preparations.
