Benfica and Boavista meet in the League Cup semifinal at the Estadio Dr. Magalhaes Pessoa. Benfica the 7 times champions are in 3rd place in the league with 44 points while Boavista are in 11th place with 19 points. Benfica come into this match after a convincing 2-0 away over Arouca. They are six points behind leaders Porto but have played an extra match. This tournament represents their best chance of silverware as their main rivals Porto have been knocked out. Benfica are unbeaten in their last five home matches with just one defeat in their last eight home matches. They have won this tournament the most times but their last title was in the 2015/16 season. Benfica have an incredible record in the finals having won all seven of their visits to the title match.
