Belgium and Germany will lock horns in Week 2 of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Friday. Two of the last three matches between these sides have gone to a deciding set, which sees us leaning toward the points market for our main prediction in this one. 

Belgium have experienced a mixed start to their second week in the 12026 VNL, losing their opening match 3-2 to Poland before bouncing back with a solid 3-1 victory over China on Thursday. 

Ferre Reggers is making a name for himself in his first VNL. The opposite spiker is the out-and-out top scorer in the competition with a massive 148 points, including six aces so far. 

Belgium are two places below the final round cutoff but have played a game more than the teams above them. They have split their last 10 matches, five wins and five losses in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Germany suffered disappointment in their opening match of Week 2 in this competition, losing 3-2 to an Argentina side that had not won a single match before that. 

Die Adler do not have any players currently ranked in the top 20 point scorers in the competition. Tobias Brand leads the team with 63 points, followed by Filip John on 60 after five matches. 

Germany are down in 12th place and have only won three of their last 10 matches. However, they have beaten this opponent in each of their last two encounters.
