Belgium and Cuba will face off on the opening day of Week 3 at the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League this Wednesday. Los Leones have yet to win a match in this competition, and our prediction is that they will struggle to change that record in this one.
Belgium return to the 2026 Nations League in 13th place in the standings with three wins from their eight matches. Those victories came against Bulgaria, Iran and China.
Ferre Reggers has been absolutely incredible for his side in this competition. He has a whopping 193 points in his eight games, just one less than the tournament’s leading scorer, Aleksandar Nikolov.
Belgium have won four of their last 10 matches in all competitions. This is the first time they will face their upcoming opponent in a competitive matchup.
Meanwhile, Cuba have been exceptionally disappointing this year, and after the first two weeks of the 2026 VNL season, they are the only nation that has not won a single match in the tournament.
Los Leones’s leading scorer in the competition is Marlon Yant Herrera with 59 points in just four matches. Jose Israel Masso Alvarez is second with 54 points, including five blocks in four games.
Cuba is on a nine-match losing streak dating back to a 3-1 loss to the USA at the World Championships.

Our Belgium vs Cuba Prediction
Belgium have had a decent debut season in the Nations League, racking up three wins against Bulgaria, Iran and China, and they will be hoping to add a few more victories to their tally this week.
Cuba, on the other hand, has been the most disappointing team in the tournament, now the only nation yet to win a game in the 2026 VNL. It’s tough to make much of a case for Los Leones in this one. Our Belgium vs Cuba prediction is Belgium wins.
