Bayer Leverkusen are looking for more points as they chase a place in the Champions League. The home side ended Saturday in third place, while their opponents are sixth. Leverkusen had an impressive win on Saturday going to Borussia Monchengladbach and coming away with a 3-1 win. That’s two wins in a row since the league resumed with seven goals scored. Striker Kai Havertz scored two in a game for the second successive match and has now scored in his last four league and cup games. They now have five straight wins in all competitions and six in their last seven Bundesliga games but still trail the league leaders by eight points. Leverkusen have a strong home record with seven wins out of 13 in the Bundesliga with only two losses. Each of their last four home league fixtures have been won with 13 goals scored and just two conceded.

Wolfsburg were still in sixth place at the end of Saturday. That’s the final Europa League qualifying place and they were helped by Freiburg losing to Werder Bremen. A win for Schalke on Sunday would see them drop down to seventh. The weekend saw them lose 2-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund, conceding a goal in each half. This is going to be another tough game for them but their away form has been good of late. Six league games on the road have been won this season. They are unbeaten in their last four matches on the road, winning three of them. Clean sheets aren’t being kept though with their last five away league games all seeing both teams score. Leverkusen are in top form and can get the three points here.
