Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga by 13 points and now bid to win the German Cup. They take on Bayer Leverkusen in the final with their opponents looking to win the trophy for only the second time in their history. Bayern have won the German Cup a record 19 times and are the current cup holders. They have had an incredible second half to the season and go into this game having won their last 16 league and cup games. They struggled early on in the season and that included losing at home to Bayer Leverkusen in November. Their last 20 league games saw them win 19 and draw one with a goal difference of +53. That included a 4-2 win at Leverkusen last month and they go into this cup final unbeaten in their last 25 league and cup games. Bayern beat Hoffenheim, Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt on their way to this final.

Bayer Leverkusen finished fifth in the Bundesliga so are already qualified for the Europa League. They will rue missing out on the Champions League by two points after only winning two of their final four league fixtures.  Leverkusen are still in the Europa League though and a victory in that competition will get them into next season's Champions League. They have only lost one of their last five league and cup fixtures but have only kept one clean sheet in their last four matches.  Their only previous German Cup win came 27 years ago. Since that 1993 victory, they have lost two finals in 2002 and 2009. They had to beat Paderborn, Stuttgart, Union Berlin and minnows Saarbrucken to reach this final. A cup win doesn't look likely though and a bet on Bayern winning and leading at half and full time is the suggested bet.
