Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv Prediction & Betting Tips - Champions League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Champions League Prediction
This season Barcelona have not been as colorful as they are known to be but it is still early in the season and as they host Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Champions League Group G on Wednesday they will be keen on improving. The Catalans go to this clash sitting pretty at the top of the group with six points while Dynamo Kyiv have one point from their opening two games. Barcelona seems to be enjoying more in Europe than at home; they have struggled in La Liga so far, and are placed 12th in the domestic league, with eight points. They have no win in their last four league games and in their most recent, they struggled to earn a point against a 10-man Alaves. It took Antoine Griezmann’s 63rd minute equalizer to salvage a point from the game. In their last six matches, Barcelona have one clean sheet and two wins – both wins having come in the Champions League. In their last Champions League match, they beat Juventus 2-0 in Italy, building on their 5-1 win over Hungarian side Ferencvaros. The Barca squad has seen a lot of changes this season, as new manager Ronald Koeman settles in and the upheavals have destabilized the team. However, with just one loss and seven wins in the Champions League, they will still be favorites here. They have no home loss in 37 Champions League matches and will be banking on this to really drive them.
Dynamo Kyiv opened their Champions League journey with a 2-0 loss to Juventus and followed it up with a 2-2 draw with Ferencvaros. They should have beaten the Hungarians in the last game, but after taking a 2-0 lead, allowed Ferencvaros back in. They will be gunning for the opening win here and much of their hope will be on Barcelona’s poor recent form. Dynamo Kyiv registered their third straight undefeated outing on Saturday after coming from behind to beat Dnipro-1 in the Ukrainian league and are on just one loss in the last 14 matches. The game against Juventus was their highest profile game this season and Barcelona’s will fit into that category as well. One thing that’s impressive about Dynamo Kyiv is their scoring form; in 14 matches this season, they have failed to score in just two. They are unbeaten in their last seven away matches but the same can’t be said of their Champions League sojourns away from home. In the last 10 away matches in the Champions League, Dynamo Kyiv have one win. They have met Barcelona twice before, when the two sides were drawn in Group F in 2009, and Barcelona won both legs.

Our Barcelona vs Dynamo Kyiv Prediction
Barcelona are struggling at home, but delivering in Europe, and after another poor showing in La Liga, they will welcome this break to focus on the Champions League. They so far have two wins in two and will be hoping to extend their dominance over Dynamo Kyiv. The Ukrainians are not the best to bet on when playing away from home in Europe and though they have an impressive scoring run in recent matches, we don’t see them prevailing here. With Barcelona’s defensive woes, they could concede again here but they are on a fine home run in the Champions League and have scored two or more in most of their recent matches. We will go with Barcelona getting their third win in this group here, and a 3-1 victory can be a good pick on the correct score scale.
