It has been 14 years since these two sides last locked horns in the Copa Del Rey with Real Betis emerging 3-1 victors at home. The visitors will be eyeing a similar outcome as they travel to Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys to lock horns with Barcelona in the round of 16. Here's our match prediction. 

Barcelona can be entirely forgiven for losing their grip at the summit in La Liga following consecutive defeats against Leganes and Atletico Madrid before the winter break.

Since then, Blaugranas have been flexing their credentials in domestic cup competitions. In their recent match, they humiliated an incapable Real Madrid in a 5-2 decisive away in the Supercopa de Espana final.

Hansi Flick's men now turn their attention to the Copa del Rey, where their last appearance saw them emerge 4-0 winners against fourth-tier outfit Barbastro in round of 32.

Real Betis won't be intimidated by Barcelona having crossed paths once this season. In that match, they played out a nail-biting 2-2 draw in the league.

Los Mejores has been in excellent form with a recent 1-0 league defeat against Real Valladolid over the weekend, marking their only loss in eight matches across all competitions (W5, D2).

Things have been smooth sailing for Betis in the Copa del Rey, recording three consecutive wins, including a 1-0 away win against Huesca to confirm their participation in this round.
